PSMA Administrative Boundaries for Western Australia: June 2019 data release

PSMA Administrative Boundaries for Western Australia has been released in June 2019 to address a discrepancy in February and May 2019 data.

Source data for Localities, Local Government Areas and Wards for Western Australia was supplied to PSMA Australia for the February 2019 and May 2019 releases with coordinates aligned to the GDA2020 datum, but with metadata indicating alignment to GDA94. New data aligned to the current GDA94 datum was sourced, prompting a June 2019 release.

Boundaries published in June 2019 align with those published in November 2018, apart from actual boundary changes updated in each theme in February and May 2019.

The discrepancy saw a shift in the location of boundaries of approximately 1.7 metres in a north easterly direction between the November 2018 and February 2019 data releases. It is corrected in the June 2019 release.

PSMA Administrative Boundaries for Western Australia will be further updated in the quarterly release cycle and published as part of the August 2019 release.

PSMA Australia expects to release data products with coordinates aligned to the GDA2020 datum before the ANZLIC announced adoption date of 30 June 2020 and will provide notice three months ahead of the change.
