Looking for data on certain demographic

I am trying to find data on the number of women in Australia (rural & urban) in different age groups, example how many women live in city regions that are 18 - 25, 25 - 35, 35-45, 45-55, 55-60, 60-65. I am interested in this sort of data for city, urban and rural areas as well as total numbers nation wide. Can anyone help with this, I didn’t have much luck on the ABS site?

If it is possible to find anything including accessing health care for peri-menopausal, menopausal and post menopause symptoms that would be fantastic. I would settle for age ranges and locality.

Hi Jodie,

I’ve found a couple of resources that may be of help:

I couldn’t find any gender and age information in MyVictoria, but it has a range of demographic information. The Qld Government Statistician’s Office has links to information age groups and gender by different locations in Queensland.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jodie,
This might help:

Kind regards,

You could also try:

I have found this to be quite useful previously depending on region, demographics etc you’re looking for

Hi also have you used the ABS table builder?
You can create your own data tables - and choose the desired geography - in this case the remoteness structure should help

Checked at AURIN, the geospatial portal.
They have data for this - LGA2011 based data for Age By Sex, Time Series Profiles Table T03, for 2011 Census [Link] [Title] ABS Census Homepage [Url]

Will check On the National Map, if you search data for “age by sex”, can map count of males by (think) LGA -

Australian Research Data Commons - an NCRIS investment

In Victoria, there’s the excellent Women’s Health Atlas: Under gender equality, it maps data by age and LGA.
