Digital access: from personal journey to W3C developments and beyond
ICT and Digital Government is hosting an online ‘lunch and learn’ to celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).
Guest presenter Dr. Scott Hollier is the Director of the Centre for Accessibility Initiative and invited expert for the W3C WAI APA Research Questions Task Force (RQTF).
Dr. Hollier will begin with an overview of his life journey, as a person who is legally blind, and discuss the evolution of assistive technologies.
Dr. Hollier will then discuss the important work he’s involved in with the W3C RQTF, including:
- addressing the accessibility of remote meetings
- XR accessibility requirements
- best practice in the use of CAPTCHA
When : Thursday 21 May 2020
Time: 11:00am to 12:00pm (ACST)
Format: 45 minute presentation and 10 to 15 minute question and answer session.
How : Online through Microsoft Teams (accessibility support for Microsoft Teams).
