I discovered DesignOps and ResearchOps a few months ago when doing a Nielsen Norman Group Conference. It really clicked with me around many of the struggles that designers were having across the APS.
For those that haven’t heard of design ops or research ops. It tends to be defined as the orchestration of people, processes and craft to amplify the impact of design.
This includes things like hiring, on-boarding, design and research systems, communities of practice, learning and skills development ect. DesignOps is a umberella term that tends to encompass ResearchOps, People Ops and probably other Xops related words. It’s an organisational lense on becoming a design organisations.
Pretty much designing design in an organisation.
What do you all think?
